LENDING A HELPING HAND
By Peter Yap
The Yayasan Sultan Idris Shah Foundation for the Disabled in Perak held
a fund-raising "Everybody Can Do Something" dinner, at the Crown Princess
Hotel in Kuala Lumpur recently.
Hong Kong and Taiwan stars including Lisa Wang, Maria Cordero, Deric
Wan, Cally Kwong and Chin Tsai entertained the guests.
It raised a remarkable RM1.2 million thanks to the generosity of donors
such as businessman Charles Yeung who paid RM50,000 for a 200-year-old
bottle of Richard Hennessy.
Founded in 1982, the foundation's aim is to help the physically handicapped
integrate into society.
The funds raised will go towards the setting up of a therapy school
and for running expenses.
The event was jointly organised by Riche Monde, Deluxe Nite Club and
Entertainment Impact.
